Sokkia guns are either a numbered "Set" or number-letter "Set," such as the Set3B. All older guns are generally numbered set; like the Set3. These are hard coded, meaning the user cannot change the baud rate or parity; these guns use the older Sets model setting. Most of the newer guns will use the "SetsB" as their model.

If the data starts coming out in the wrong position: Slope Dist where Zenith should be; then the checksum is in the wrong position, toggle it to YES on the gun.

The XL has 4 decimal places for distance, this must be toggled back to three or it will result in a failed shot.

The TDS cable will be marked with either SOK, TPC, or LTZ. A Topcon cable will work with the Sokkia/Leitz gun. Pentax and Nikon cables will connect, but do not use the same pin configuration so they will not work.

The Sokkia Power Set series (1000, 2000, 3000, 4000) have SDR OnBoard but will work with the TDS Data Collectors set to Sokkia/SETs with the Gun in Measurement mode. For the 100 series (1100, 2100, 3100, 4100) use the SETsB driver.
