In Windows 95/98, on the Desktop go to the "My Computer" icon and then going to the "View" option on the menu, then choosing "Folder Options" then choose the "View" tab, then in the window uncheck the box next to the line "Hide file extensions for known file types". The 48GX uses the file extensions during its download operations, and will not download if it cannot see the file extension, and this option, if checked, hides the extension from the 48GX.

On a Windows 2000 and Windows ME computers the Folder Options are found under the menu item "Tools".

On Windows NT 4.0 you will find on the View menu item the Options to make the above changes.
