Firmware is a combination of the following pieces of software:
Recon BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) (controls how the Recon "boots up")
Motherboard chip controller drivers (controls battery monitoring/recharging, communications, and more)
Windows CE .NET operating system (controls your Windows CE .NET compatible software, such as Survey Pro)
It is our standard practice to update all three of these in a single "firmware update" file to ensure that your Recon runs reliably and efficiently.
