Survey Pro now has a new Leveling module. This module is designed to provide the structure and functionality necessary to collect leveling data using digital levels, optical levels and total stations. Survey Pro stores complete raw data detailing each measurement and also stores 1-D points in the Job file. Multiple loops are allowed in one file, but only one loop is active at a time. It is not necessary to close any individual loop before starting a new one. The first loop can be reactivated at any time to finish. You can even update existing points with elevations generated from the loop.

Leveling with Survey Pro provides you with all your survey data in one format on one system. This makes data management much easier. Survey Pro also provides an easy to understand and use graphical interface that can't be found in digital level software.

The Leveling module can be added to any of the current Survey Pro levels.

Trigonometric Leveling

The Survey Pro Leveling module also lets you use your total station for Trigonometric leveling. You can now transfer more accurate elevations without buying new equipment or changing setups. It also means that you can use your robotic total station for one person trigonometric leveling!

Using Survey Pro Leveling

The menu for the Leveling module is quite simple. You have the option of opening an existing (not closed) loop or of creating a new one. The Level menu item opens the currently active loop and presents the screens used to collect data. The Peg Test function is used to perform a peg test on your level instrument and to record the results of the test.

The Leveling module adds the features to conduct a leveling survey using standards and practices as outlined in FGCS procedures. Tolerances can be individually set, or they can be loaded from preset FGCS order and class definitions.

It is important to recognize that Survey Pro can only display a warning if tolerances are not met. It is up to the Surveyor to determine if the level loop meets the criteria for a particular standard.

Survey Pro supports digital levels, optical levels and trigonometric leveling with total stations.

Survey Pro will directly communicate with digital levels, triggering the measurement and storing the data.

Measurements are entered into the system by choosing either Turn to Benchmark, Turn to Turning Point, Sideshot or Stakeout. Any number of sets can be used to make the measurement. Shot results will be displayed with the option to remove (Toss) any shot that does not meet your requirements. You are then given the opportunity to redo that observation.

A complete report of operations during the loop is accessible at any time for you to review by selecting the Level Notes button.

Survey Pro Leveling also includes a peg test routine to check the functionality of your equipment.
