Basemaps provide the ability to use a graphic or drawing as the background of a Survey Pro map. This feature helps you identify landmarks to stay oriented and to identify points that need to be staked. The map is viewed using the standard Survey Pro map screens where appropriate, and can pan and zoom with the Survey Pro map. This feature provides an interface to select a variety of configurations and settings, enabling you to identify land features more easily. Basemaps support GeoTIFF and DXF file formats.

Basemaps are visible by default in the View Map routine. A new button has been added to the toolbar, taking you directly to the Manage Basemaps routine.

By default, basemaps are disabled in all other map views. You can enable the basemap display under the map settings.

Manage Basemaps is a new routine that lets you load and manipulate the basemap files associated with a JOB file.

The Edit Basemap routine allows you to edit the display properties for a basemap layer.

The Preview tab displays a graphical preview of the basemap with the settings specified on the General tab (if applicable).
