Manage your field data with easy-to-use software
SOLO Office software, the Windows-based companion product for
SOLO Field, helps you manage your SOLO Field projects. SOLO
Office has many of the same functions as SOLO Field, and adds several project management tools including SHP
file extraction, image preparation, user-defined ASCII export, batch transfer, printing and much more.
Because SOLO Office is Windows-based, and it has an interface that's similar to SOLO Field, it's intuitive
and easy to learn and use. SOLO Office makes it easy to manage your SOLO Field projects.

Project management
SOLO Office provides several key project management features. You can package your projects
for download into your field data collector to eliminate forgotten files and errors caused
by changed settings. You can also selectively transfer files to avoid sending files you
already have in your data collector, and merge multiple projects together for easier file
management and export.

SOLO Field
TDS SOLO Field GIS mapping software lets you gather position and attribute data on a handheld
computer such as the rugged TDS Recon or
Ranger, or other Pocket PC or Windows devices.
And SOLO Field provides advanced features for advanced users while remaining easy to learn and
operate.

SHP file extraction
The SHP File Extraction routine lets you open your large ESRI SHP files in SOLO Office, and
then extract only the region that you need in the field. You can download the resulting SHP
file into your field data collector for use as a basemap. And you can choose the attributes
in the associated database file to download, saving significant amounts of memory on your
field data collector.

User-defined ASCII export
To customize the output of your collected data, use the SOLO Office advanced ASCII output
wizard. This wizard lets you specify the output order for your data as well as separators,
headers, footers and more. And you can create and store multiple profiles for use with
future projects.

 |
|
Image preparation
Using the image preparation routine, you can specify a particular region of an existing image
to take into the field. The selected region will be clipped from the original image and stored
in the TDS SIF format for use with SOLO Field. TIFF file images will be compressed during the
conversion to SIF format. And you can establish geo-reference information for scanned-in images.

|
Printing and plotting
SOLO Office lets you send your data to any Windows-supported printer or plotter. You can print
whatever is currently displayed in the map view, or you can send collected data, basemaps and
images to the selected output device. You can also print your feature files for a hard-copy
