Fast, accurate and efficient 502 Series total stations help speed up field work
Nikon 502 Series total stations have multiple features to help you work more quickly and productively in the field. The 502 Series consists of the popular DTM-522 and the new NPL-522, which provides a prismless option. These total stations deliver a versatile, easy-to-use platform so you can get the job done right. And 502 Series total stations punch through brush better than most total stations—something you'll appreciate when dealing with dense foliage at your survey site.

Nikon 502 Series total stations feature the Lumi-Guide tracking light, helping the rodman locate the correct lines quickly for a more efficient stakeout.

Both 502 Series models feature a Lumi-Guide tracking light above the telescope objective lens. It emits one steady and one blinking beam of coherent red light, allowing the rodman to locate the correct line quickly and easily. The Lumi-Guide also assists in one-man clearing of lines, and it works as a prism illuminator for night surveying.

DTM-522 offers long Battery Life: The BC-80 clip-on battery gives you up to 10.5 hours of continuous distance/angle measurement; with one measurement every 30 seconds, battery life extends up to 24 hours.

NPL-522 adds prismless option to 502 Series
NPL-522 adds prismless option to 502 series: The 522 NPL has reflectorless capabilities that expand the environments you can survey without sacrificing speed or accuracy—you can survey in areas where using a prism would be impossible or dangerous.

Accuracy you can depend on
The 502 series is extremely precise. The DTM-522 model has an accuracy of ± (2+2 ppm x D) mm in precise mode and the NPL-522 features accuracy of ± (3 + 2 ppm x D) mm in precise mode.

Connex
Connex Data Transfer and Conversion Software, developed by TDS, enables bi-directional data transfer between a Nikon total station with on-board storage and a PC. By importing and exporting a variety of data formats, Connex allows you to interface to many engineering or CAD programs. You can also quickly identify and correct errors from the field, manage your data and easily generate reports. Connex replaces the discontinued TransIt program.
