The product warranty for Nikon auto levels varies by product series. The AS/AE Series has a 5 year warranty. The AP/AC/AX Series has a 1 year warranty. The full text of these warranties appears below.

Nikon AS/AE Series
FIVE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
This Nikon product is warranted by Tripod Data Systems (TDS) to be free from defects in material and workmanship
for a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase. During this period, TDS or its authorized service stations
will, without charge, repair or replace any part or assembly of parts found to be defective in material or
workmanship, subject to the following limitations and exclusions:
This warranty shall not apply to the following:
- Product which has been subject to misuse, abuse, negligence, accident, or which has had its serial numbers, names, functions or applications altered or obliterated.
- Defects of damage directly or indirectly caused by the use of unauthorized replacement parts and/or performed by unauthorized personnel.
Note: Batteries and transformers (chargers) are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of purchase.
THE WARRANTIES HEREIN ARE EXPRESSLY IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES INCLUDING THE PAYMENT OF CONSEQUENTIAL
OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES FOR THE BREACH OF ANY WARRANTY. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES SO THE ABOVE
LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE
OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.
The return of the registration portion of the warranty card included with Nikon products to TDS will serve as a
basis for establishing the purchase date by the consumer purchaser. The failure of the purchaser to return the
registration card will not affect the rights under this warranty so long as the consumer purchaser can establish the
original purchase date.
