Tripod Data Systems Introduces TDS Layout Pro Software for in-the-field Construction Layout
Features graphic display and entry of blueprints and data points for greater accuracy and productivity; includes integrated Construction Master Pro calculator
CORVALLIS, Ore.—October 5, 2005—Tripod Data Systems (TDS) today announced the release of TDS Layout ProTM construction layout software. Running on the TDS Recon® rugged handheld data collector, Layout Pro allows contractors to carry, manage, work with and lay out job site blueprints regardless of the method and instrumentation. The software also includes the industry-standard Construction Master® Pro calculator from Calculated Industries, Inc.
Designed to improve productivity while making the layout process more accurate and reliable, Layout Pro allows users to input blueprint dimensions and build a digital replica of the layout plan. The software then guides the layout of the major points, and users can add string dimensions on the print, as well as calculate diagonals and angles. Layout Pro can also be used for standard field calculations, materials calculations and jobsite management.
"Layout Pro makes it easy for contractors to layout construction sites whether they're using a transit and tape or a total station," said TDS president Bill Martin. "Plus, it comes with all the versatility and field-proven durability of the Recon data collector."
The Recon comes with Windows MobileTM software for Pocket PCs, which includes Pocket versions of Excel and Word, along with e-mail, calendar and other programs. In addition, users can run thousands of other applications available for the Windows Mobile platform.
Layout Pro is available immediately through a wide network of TDS authorized dealers. Configurations are available for use with transits and tapes and for use with total stations. Complete specifications, along with a directory of dealers, are available online at www.tdsway.com.
