Corvallis, Ore. and Gaithersburg, Md.—February 12, 2002—Tripod Data Systems (TDS) and the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM) announced today they are presenting a one-day data collection training course Sunday, April 21, at the FIG/ACSM/ASPRS Spring 2002 Conference.

"This session will help beginning data collector users learn advanced operations," said Scott Fisher, TDS training manager. "We'll be using the TDS Ranger hardware and TDS Survey Pro software--the most popular data collection combination."

The course will cover repetition, off-center shots, construction stake-out instruction and road layout routines. Participants are encouraged to bring their own data collectors for the hands-on portion of the course covering data collection and total stations.

The fee for this full-day course is included in the ACSM registration. Pre-registration is required at http://www.acsm.net/registration.pdf or by contacting Corey Chandler (301-984-9450 x17 or coreychandler@conferencemanagers.com). The course is certified by ACSM, and participants will receive 7.5 continuing education credits for attending.

"The ACSM conference gives members top-notch training and opportunities to discuss issues with fellow professionals from around the globe," said Curt Sumner, ACSM executive director. "We highly recommend the seminar to beginning data collector users for hands-on, advanced data collection training."
